Weddings
For weddings I typically play outside the ceremony as guests arrive, the wedding party and bridal procession, the recessional and music as guests depart to the reception. I am also available for the wedding reception itself, wherein I play at the entrance as guests arrive.
I am able to collaborate with organists and other soloists on request.
Funerals
I offer both funeral and graveside services. For funeral services, I play the pipes as guests arrive to the church or funeral home and again after the recessional. Occasionally I provide a hymn or song during the service, usually on the highland or border pipes. For graveside services, I play as the funeral party arrives and the casket or remains are brought to the gravesite. At the conclusion of the service I play three verses of “Amazing Grace” followed by a set of retreat marches played further away as background music. I’ve performed at notable venues such as Arlington National Cemetery, the National Cathedral, the CIA Headquarters and Quantico National Cemetery.
Other Events
Whether a birthday party, graduation ceremony, church service, or St. Patrick’s Day event, I cater to a wide range of engagements, tailoring the music and ambience accordingly.
Border & Uilleann Pipes
For indoor settings, I perform on both the border pipes and uilleann pipes. The border pipes are a bellows-blown, quieter version of the highland pipes. The uilleann pipes are the bellows-blown bagpipes famous to Ireland with a distinct, reedy tone and a greater range of notes. Both can be played with other musicians and are a great choice for church services or wakes.
